This is another wonderful Giveaway Hop from Kathy at I Am A Reader, Not A Writer.
Thanks for such a fantastic idea, Kathy!
Many of you may not know this, but I only began querying EVER in February. And that was my very first, very ugly draft. *shudders*
Through building my online relationships, and finally succumbing to the addiction that calls itself Twitter, I met so many people that would inevitably change me, change my writing, and change my path. One of those integral people is my critique partner, Tamara (Feaky Snucker). I met her through Janet Reid's blog, after I'd shamefully entered my horrible first draft into the Liz Norris Pay It Forward contest. A contest I was sure I'd win. Oh, how wonderful naivety can be!
This past year has been a whirlwind. I've learned so much along the way, and met so many amazing people that have touched my life in countless ways. I am thankful for each and every one of you. Friends and writing buddies, agents and editors, book bloggers and reviewers, you have all come into my life for a reason and I am so thankful for all of you!
For this giveaway, I am giving away TWO e-books of EVER.
All you have to do is comment below and tell me what you are thankful for. My only request is that you dig a little deeper, past the "I'm thankful for my husband" or "I'm thankful for my kids" responses and share something a little different with us.
You don't have to follow me on Twitter, or join my blog, but hey ... if you do, that would be awesome too! And I'd be "thankful" for that. lol
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for YOU!
XOXO,
Jessa
All of these wonderful blogs are hosting giveaways as well! And all of them have an easy entry! Hop around and check them out!
thx 4 God for giving me health...
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for the Blogosphere and everyone who stops by my blog with kind words and encouragement. I'd have given up by now if it weren't for them :)
ReplyDeleteSorry but my answer is going to be typical :) I am thankful for my newborn son :)
ReplyDeleteI already have a copy of EVER (and I LOVE it), so I don't need to enter the contest, but I'll post my thankful bit anyway. And since you said to dig deep:
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for my ability to walk. After my brain surgery 6 years ago, when I woke up and couldn't feel my right leg at all, I was so scared that I might never walk again. Now, every time I stand up on my own or walk up and down stairs without falling, I say a little prayer and thank the Lord for teaching me to walk again. It's amazing how the little things we take for granted mean so much when we think we might lose them!
I am thankful for the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Not just when I've done something wrong...but when I need to change my focus or when I need to DO something instead of just think about it. (I recently read a book about homelessness... I feel convicted that I need to DO something, not turn a blind eye). :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful I learned how to persevere. I remember the time when rejection and criticism really hit hard and made me want to stop doing this crazy publishing game. I'm so glad I didn't give into those few, dark voices.
ReplyDeleteI kept going, kept writing, and I am living my dream. That's definitely worth a thankful thought.
Cheers! Ash
I am thankful for so many authors i became friends with who are super nice and awesome and the authors i am just becoming friends with!! thanks for the awesome giveaway
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to enter either, because I have a SIGNED paperback of Ever. Yup, that's right, I do :)
ReplyDeleteBut I do have things to be thankful for, and they are:
*Life
*Family
*Being published
*And to you fellow authors who I've become virtual friends with. Thanks for your help along the way, your reviews, and for allowing me to be helpful to you.
To be honest, I was thankful Peapod, a local grocery delivery service, has my favorite candy at about half price of the manufacturer's stores. It was a real surprise.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that each morning I breathe....I didn't kill the at&t guy yesterday (although I was very close!)...I have been able to adjust to country life a little more each day and I haven't gone totally insane...Oh and that my mother in law lives 2 hrs away instead of closer :)
ReplyDelete~I am very thankful for my family and friends...they're nutty but they're my nuts and I love them :0)
I'm thankful to have my brother back - he'd been abroad, hadn't kept in touch, and now he's back and living in my neighborhood:)
ReplyDeleteThank you:)
I'm thankful for family and books :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for NaNoWriMo. A year ago I decided to try the insanity. I didn't "win", but I learned something even more valuable: That I had the time to invest in my writing, I just had to make it happen. One year later, I am almost writing THE END on that same novel! Also, for the wonderful community of writers (online and local) that I have met through the experience. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for toasted oats. Seriously, they are delicious and I can trick myself into thinking they're somewhat healthy and not fattening. Thus, I am thankful (:
ReplyDeletesorry, but I truly AM most thankful for my incredibly awesome husband. He loves me unconditionally and supports even my craziest endeavors. He has been my biggest cheerleader in my weight loss program (-45 lbs and counting) without EVER making me feel bad (and when I say cheerleader, I mean he literally cheers me on every morning with the scales - clapping and chanting "well done you! well done you!" or other sweet, encouraging words when I've gained a pound or two back.) I love him SO MUCH and I can only say that I am incredibly blessed to have him in my life.
ReplyDeleteSo while you didn't want the trite 'I'm thankful for my husband' answer... at least I've told you some of the reasons as to WHY I'm thankful for him :)
I hope you have a GREAT Thanksgiving! and thank you for this giveaway :)
~Lynne

DeleteMarch this year, I decided to quit smoking. I have been smoking for 16 years and I just decided that fateful day on March to never ever puff a cigarette again. I got sick just a day after that and was sickly for a few months. I also suffered depression. I quit my job, stayed in the house, and didn't want any contact from anyone except my immediate family. Exactly 5 months after my last cigarette, I overcame what I can say was the most horrible stage of my life. I was reborn, happy, and blessed. I am so thankful that the Lord has given me the strength to go through all that.
